Oldham Cats almost always has plenty of cats who desperately need homes. We take in every cat we have room for so usually have a variety of ages, colours and sexes. Kittens are more common during the summer months (known as 'kitten season') but even then we do not always have kittens available as they are usually in demand, please phone us on
0161 653 6530 if you wish to enquire about kittens to save a wasted journey to the cattery.
Please note;
We do not reserve cats you've seen directly from the site, please call the rescue to arrange a visit to meet / enquire for further details about the cat. Thank you.
Figaro

Figaro is a recent arrival at the cattery. He came to us after he had been a stray for approx 4 weeks and we think his owners moved house and left him behind. Figaro is about 4 years old and looks a little scruffy at the moment. We hope to be able to give him a good brush and clean up very soon, once he settles down. He is friendly but also gets a little 'spooked' at times so may hit out a bit. This will hopefully stop once he knows us all better. He would be best suited to a "grown-ups" environment.
If you are interested in this lovely little 'man' and want to give him a second chance at a good home. Then please contact the cattery on 0161 6536530 or call in and visit. Thanks Sue .
Update: 29 January.... Figaro is settling more and has a mad addiction for catnip....he nearly took someones hand off for it yesterday!! It looks like Figaro may become a resident as nobody has taken an interest in him at all.....He just wants home, food and the odd stroke..... Surely there must be someone out there who could offer this.....???
Update 4th February...well he has had long enough in a cage and is now roaming the rescue....I say roaming, he is in fact enjoying the warmth of the fire and has chosen the bed in front of it....You good Boy Figaro!
STAR....he's back!

Unfortunately Star has been brought back to us. The home he went to was just too noisy and full of life. Star needs a home with adults or with adults and grown up children. He is a neutered youngster with what I call the "sugar lips" factor!!! Come all you sweet freaks and give this handsome boy a 3rd chance at home life. Call the rescue on 0161 653 6530. Thank you, Faye.
Update 29 January: This man is soooooo loveable...he just wants a warm home too..... He is very accommodating to most home environments so we cannot understand why he is still with us...Please someone..help this poor boy out..
KIRAZ AND OZUM

I just love this photograph....and I even took it myself!!
Kiraz on the left and her Brother Ozum arrived at the rescue on Monday 16th January. They are neutered 7 month old siblings. These two however are more of a twosome as the picture shows and we would love it if they could be homed together. They were reared by a very kind lady who took on their Mum when she was heavily pregnant. The very kind owner of "Mum" didn't want anything to do with her and her imminent litter of fluffiness.... The lady has cared for them and has now decided it is time to let them find "home" elsewhere.
We must add that she has done a tremendous job with them.
Kiraz and Ozum are a little shy.We are looking for a very caring home for these cats to go to and hoping that someone reading this note might think it could be theirs.
These are all Turkish namings and apparently on Google they mean the following;
Kiraz - means cherry or sweet
Ozum - means support or solution...There fore I reckon he is Kiraz's support.
Anyhow, enough of my babble....Please if you think that you could help then call the rescue on 0161 653 6530. Thank you once again, Faye
Update 29 January: Yes, these two are still with us and are getting itchy feet. They are much more settled and are much more forthcoming to have a stroke and a cuddle....Any offers out there???
WHISKY

Whisky is a four and a half year old lady who sadly had to come to us after her owner sadly died recently.She was much loved and now and now needs someone who will love her just as much and can give her a good home. She likes being indoors but will 'step out' every now and then for short periods
She might be best suited to living with a single person or maybe a couple..She is very sweet and we hope someone will come and 'rescue' this damsel in distress soon. If you think you would be interested in this lovely girl... then please contact the cattery on 1061 6536530 or call in and pay her a visit. Thanks Sue.
Friendo

Friendo came to us on on 28/1/12 after her owners split up, so now there is no one home to look after her as her 'dad' works away from Mon - Friday.Friendo will go outside but much prefers to stay indoors and have lots of hugs and cuddles.
Friendo has a lovely calm personality and would suit most homes who want a friendly cat. If you think she would fit into your home, please contact the cattery on 0161 6536530 or call in and pay us a visit. Thanks Sue.
MILLIE AND MASIE

I think these photos are the right way round for their names!!!!
These litter siblings came to us on 2nd February after being taken from someone who had been evicted. Unfortunately their home was not the cleanest but we are lucky that the girls do actually use the litter tray provided. A little on the shy side...I am sure this is only temporary after not having much human interaction. They are between 7-9 months old and are scheduled to be taken to our vet on Tuesday to be neutered on Wednesday 8th February. The could however be reserved in advance of this by calling into the rescue to take a peek. Our telephone number is 0161 653 6530. Thank you, Faye.
Delilah (picture to follow)
Another of our Mums from last year, Delilah came to us in January. She was the Mum of 3 fluffy numbers!!!! She is 12-18 months old and has a really good temperament. She is a black and white semi-long haired lady who hopefully will be being neutered this Wednesday (8th February). She is a fairly nimble lady but after neutering I am sure she will add a few pounds to her physique! For more information please call us at the rescue on 0161 653 6530. Thank you, Faye
