Aurora Thank you very much for sponsoring me.My friends here at Oldham Cats say it is because of your help that I am fed so well and looked after, and get such good treatment at the vets. I have a good life here at Oldham Cats, I have my volunteers 'sorted' and they do pretty much as I tell them to do! I am a 'typical tortie' they tell me and am a bit 'temperamental' at time- blooming cheek of them! I am always in a good mood- but can I help it if the 'service' around here has to be complained about from time to time? I have had to wait up to five minutes for my food in the past- Disgraceful service I am sure even a saint would have cause to complain at that. I had a bit of a problem with my skin this summer- and I think I was over grooming myself. I had a 'bald' patch of fur that appeared on my side one morning.Well, this isn't very nice for a 'Lady' to have to put up with- so off they took me to the vet who said the volunteers had to start spraying me with some stuff from a bottle twice a day! I did complain heartily about this, but it fell on deaf ears (you just can't get the staff these days). It took a while but thankfully my side is much better now and I am hoping my coat will be in tip-top condition again soon. Do you like my photo? This was taken when I was having a little 'rest' in a carrier outside of the office.Someone had put it there and I thought it was the perfect place to catch a bit of a 'cat nap'..!! it was very cosy and warm and I made it a bit of a summer residence for a while. What a life hey? Lovely!
Candy Thank you for sponsoring me. My friends here at Oldham Cats say that without your help I could not be fed and looked after as well as I am. I am a bit of a loner really, You can't beat your own company I say! But, I do like to hang around the bungalow and pop in on Pat from time to time for food treats. Also Rose, who comes in the mornings brings me treats of salmon and tuna and lots of other 'special' treats. I think she brings them just for me really, but I do allow Maddie to share -as we have been friends for such a long time - and I am always a 'lady'. We like to have our 'picnics' in the garden sometimes. We have a lovely variety of foods and when the sun is shining - and we are feeling like taking it easy- it's a wonderful way to pass an afternoon. We don't really invite any of the other resident cats to our little 'soirees' as they always seem quite happy to stay with the volunteers and share their sandwiches. Maddie and I don't 'do' sandwiches- we are better than that...! I have seen a lot of cats & their kittens come and go at Oldham Cats in my years here. Sometimes I think it might be nice to share a house with a 'human'- or family of them. But I look at my life here- I come and go as I please- wandering if the mood takes me into the fields- then coming back to the lovely warmth of our 'outhouse' to sleep and eat. I say hello to the humans if my mood takes me that way- I give them a wide berth if I don't feel like 'chatting'. It's nice not to have to do things when they want me too and just live for me (and Maddie).I couldn't be happier!

Thank you so much for sponsoring me. My lovely friends here at Oldham Cats say that it is with your help that I am so well looked after, have lots of good food and get the best vet treatment.
This summer I had to go for a “shave”, I had let the hair on the back of my neck become matted and my carers decided it didn’t look good. I thought it was quite “cool” and wanted to keep it as it looked like “dreadlocks”, but they said I looked scruffy – so off they took me to the vets and he sheared it off right down to the skin!. What a nerve!!. Actually, once it was done and I had calmed down a bit I decided I quite liked it. It was very hot weather when I first had it done so it helped to keep me cool, I had my very own sun roof!. I loved it when people rubbed or tickled my “bald” patch it felt really nice. My fur is growing back again now and I am actually letting them groom my fur now so I won’t have to go for another shave in the future. Apart from that, the summer and now autumn, has been quiet and I am just enjoying all the fuss and attention I get from everyone. I love it here at Oldham Cats and have a lot of human friends who treat me well and fuss me, I don’t go away from the office area much as I like to see what’s going on. It pays to be “in the know” as then you find out which of the carers has something good on offer for lunch that they are willing to share!! They usually do as they are a nice bunch of people. They often have something yummy with them or they will bring in special treats just for us, is it a wonder I love it so much here?, when I am cared for so much

Thank you for sponsoring me! The people here at Oldham Cats say that the donations you send for me keeps me fed and warm, it also goes towards vet fees if ever I am poorly. You probably already know a little about me but let me update you on things I have been doing this summer. Firstly, I have decided to try and get a bit fitter, I have been told that walking is a good way to start my fitness regime, so I now walk around the cattery a few times a day. I am working up to doing ‘jumps’ and have my on the tables as there is usually food up there! But, if I do manage the jumps, I might end up putting more weight on again!! My carers say that they are going to put something called a ‘pedometer’ on me, which will somehow tell them how far I walk in a day- I think it’s all a bit ‘Big Brother is watching you’ myself- so if they get one, I might ‘accidentally’ lose it! Ha ha...!
As you can probably tell- I am very happy here at Oldham Cats. Thank you for helping my Carers look after me.

Thank you for sponsoring me. My lovely friends here at Oldham Cats tell me that it is due to your help that I am so well fed and given the best vet treatment when needed! This has been important to me this year as I havehad to go to the vets quite a lot. I had a 'strange' lump on my side for a while which we thought was nothing to worry about, but then I was taken (against my will-I don't like going in Carriers!!)to our vet and I had to have an operation. I don't really understand all the 'technical' stuff (I am a cat, after all!) but the word Cancer kept cropping up. The wonderful vet said they managed to 'remove' all of it, so I am grateful to them for that as it did sound very nasty. Since recovering from my op, I have been feeling much better. The nasty lump has not returned, so I am very happy. I was a bit 'miffed' when the volunteers took me back to the vets for a 'shave' later on though. In my opinion they took way too much 'off the top' and it wasn't a really good impression for me. They said it was my own fault and if I allowed them to 'groom me' every day- then I would be fine. I am a 'Macho' man though and don't like to be fussed over. I do have a reputation to maintain after all! Sometimes it's a bit hard to maintain the tough reputation though, Recently, I was ambling up the yard and those 'pesky' ducks were in my path. Now, of course I am not afraid of them- but one made an odd sound- and lunged towards me- I thought it must have been ill or something, so I ran past it and up to the bungalow to raise the alarm...not that I was scared of it...Honest!!

Thank you very much for being my sponsor! The people here at Oldham Cats say that it is with your help that I get all my food and vets bills paid for. What a wonderful person you must be!
Life here at the cattery is one long holiday. I like to lie in the office most of the time now i am a little older – it’s nice to rest and be close to all my carers. I have them quite well trained now, I go over onto my counter in the office and nudge them when I need some of my “special biscuits” and they obligingly get them for me from a bun tin under the counter and then I can eat as much as I like. Then if the mood takes me I ask them for a cup of water – yes you did read correctly I did say cup! I am not the bowl kind of cat who wants to get down on the floor and drink out of a “common bowl”! I have a special blue mug which I get them to fill up for me and I can drink my fill. They do complain a bit that I ‘dribble’ on the counter and they have to clean it up again... but hey... it gives them something to do, so they should thank me – after all that’s what they are there for!!! We had another resident here recently. His name was Dillon, but that’s not what I called him! We didn’t get on AT ALL!! He knew I was the “boss” here and tried to pinch my top spot. He was a big boy – quite stroppy but I managed to “hang in there” and luckily he was “taken away” or “adopted” as the carers said, so life here at the cattery has calmed down again and once more my daily routine has returned to normal. It’s just wonderful, and I am one happy cat AGAIN!!

Thank you for sponsoring me. My friends here at Oldham Cats tell me that it is with help of people like you that all us residents are so well looked after and given the best vet treatment when needed.
As you may know I don’t really visit the cattery much during the day time when its busy. I am quite a shy girl, I like to come down for a good “nosey” around when its quiet. There is always plenty of yummy food placed around so I like to pick and choose, a bit like a pick and mix. I like to visit “Auntie Pat”, who lives at the bungalow every morning and she always has some yummy food for me too. As does “auntie Rose” who is always at the cattery first thing in the morning to clean and check on all the cats and kittens who are “staying” at the cattery. Because I don’t really like to go inside houses and I live outdoors, my coat has really improved over the years and is very thick and soft. I tend to sleep in the “outhouse” next to the bungalow and its all “kitted out” (no pun intended!!) for us with beds and trays and yes more food! I am not much for games really but recently I go chatting to Poppy who lives at the bungalow with auntie pat. We were talking about ways to say hello to each other and poppy said she had seen on television that some humans like to clap their hands together and say “hi five”. It sounded odd to us but we thought it would be interesting to try. So poppy sat on one side of the door and i sat on the other and we “patted” each other’s paws. We thought we must have been doing it wrong as nothing happened so we tried and tried again. After a while we started to have fun! Its great living here at the cattery, there are always new things to try!

Hello there firstly let me take the opportunity to say Thank you for sponsoring me. My carers here at Oldham Cats say that without your help I would not be able to eat as well as I do or have our nice vet to look after me so well.
I am now quite happy with my ‘new look’ tail (I was a bit upset when I lost it at first!) but now I think it makes me look quite sleek and I need a little help in that direction at the moment, weight loss is always an issue with us ladies! To help combat this issue I have taken up a bit of hunting again. I catch the odd mouse- or bird but really I am only doing it for the exercise (food is something we are not short of here at Oldham Cats.!)
Toby, one of the other residents, is mad keen on hunting and brings back quite a good collection of various creatures; I have become very wise in my older age and sometimes, if I am feeling I fancy some ‘fresh’ food but am also feeling a bit lazy- then I lay in wait for Toby to come up the drive with his latest ‘bounty’ and I ‘relieve’ him of it! As you can tell, I am still a cheeky young lady! But it just makes me very loveable.... don’t you think?
I also still like to sit on visitors and carers shoulders and have a lovely cuddle. Visitors really seem to enjoy it (Once they get over the shock of me just landing on them!) I do like to try and make them feel welcome if I can and of course, I do like to do my ‘bit’ to help out here! As you can tell, I am a very happy cat!
TED Ted is our latest resident who is available for sponsorship. He was dumped outside the cattery a while ago and was suffering with a servere ear problem. He went to stay with Faye for quite a while and had to have an operation which has been very successful and he is now back with us as he doesn't like to use a litter tray. He is a wonderful and friendly cat and loves to roll over and have his tummy tickled and lots of fuss..! He is loving the hot weather and spends most of it outside.

Thank you for sponsoring me. My friends here at Oldham Cats say that with your help that I get so well looked after – being fed so well and also getting the best treatment from the vets.
As you might know I have what the human species call “diabetes” and I have to have an injection every morning with something called “insulin”. I don’t know what this is but I know it makes me feel great!!. My carers say I am doing really well and the vet is very happy with me too. This summer because I have been feeling so fit and well I have been hunting quite a bit. My carers say that I am naughty, as I have all the food I need here at the cattery, but I just can’t help myself. I go into the fields for a walk and if I see a mouse or a bird looking at me in the ‘wrong way’.... I just have to put it in its place!. I love to chase them and when I catch them I like to share my good fortune by taking it up to my carers. They never seem very happy about my little gifts to them, but they do take them off me and put them either into the bin, or take them into the fields and.... can you believe this.... they let them go again!, how daft is that!! As if that isn’t bad enough sometimes I creep up the drive, mouse firmly in mouth and cheeky little Precious will stand in front of me and demand – yes demand! , that I drop it for her. Me being such a gentleman I normally give it to her, but what a blooming cheek – don’t you think?
Apart from that little problem I spoke earlier about, I have had a really good summer and I really love being a resident here at Oldham Cats.
