Microchipping
As of June 2024 it is now a legal requirement to microchip your cat, failure to do so can result in a fine of upto £500.

We at the rescue regularly experience the reuniting of cats with their families because of the wonder of microchips, and we see the flip side of the unchipped strays who were not so lucky, microchipping is vital.
​
At Oldham cats we have several experienced microchip implanters that are available to chip your cat at a very reasonable cost with the aim of encouraging owners.

One cat £15
Two cats (from the same household) £20
3+ cats (from the same household) £10 each

Claw clipping

Are your cats clawing at your furniture? Are you running out of plasters?
​
This may mean that your cat is in need of claw clipping.......
​
Luckily we have a fearless team of volunteers that don't mind throwing themselves in front of danger to safeguard your sofa!
All joking aside, the comfort of any cat is the most crucial thing to us, and getting little claws stuck in carpet isn't fun for anyone!

Dematting
We cannot claim to be expert cat groomers, but sometimes there are situations where an owner needs help with the unruly coat of their cat!
Knots and matts can be uncomfortable for the cat and expensive for the owner, so we are able to help in situations where some clipping and combing is enough to get on top of a situation.
​
The cost would depend on how much work needs doing but if you need help in this area please do email us with some pictures and we can give you a clearer idea.
